[NUS EdTech in Action] Arteries to Ailerons: Applying Team-Based Learning

SINGAPORE – Brian O’Dwyer, Commercial Founder and Executive Chairman of CognaLearn presented at the start-ups and entrepreneurs meetupEdTech in Action: Arteries to Ailerons at the The Hangar, National University of Singapore on August 31, 2016. He spoke about his experience applying Team-Based Learning at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he teaches as an adjunct professor.

Lectures are a notoriously ineffective way to learn with over 80% of a typically lecture being forgotten. Fortunately, the team-based learning (“TBL”) form of flipped classroom which draws on many learning principles rooted in cognitive science has been shown to much more effective.
